Dobbies donates indoor plants to Stroke Association
We are collaborating with one of our charity partners, Stroke Association, to show our support for Stroke Awareness Month, with the donation of indoor plants from our five star, award-winning RHS Chelsea Flower Show stand.
This year Stroke Association have launched their 'Stroke Research Means Everything' campaign to raise awareness of the chronic lack of funding available for stroke research.
Stroke is a leading cause of adult disability in the UK. Two thirds of people who survive a stroke find themselves living with a disability.
Research into stroke is one of the most underfunded areas of health research in the UK. Far less is spent ‘per survivor’ on research into stroke than on research into any other health condition. Research has helped to cut the rate of deaths by almost half over the last three decades and Stroke Association is the only organisation dedicated to funding research into ongoing rehabilitation for stroke survivors.
Indoor plants were a key part of Dobbies’ RHS Chelsea Flower Show ‘green sanctuary’ stand, blurring the lines between indoors and out, and highlighting the benefits they can have. Not only do indoor plants look fantastic, research has shown that they are positive for our wellbeing and health, with many having air purifying potential.
All of these are important factors for stroke survivors, which is why Dobbies is collaborating with Stroke Association to make this donation.
Stroke Association will be reaching out to their network, inviting people to select a stunning collection of indoor plants that will work for their home space.
