Fennel Bronze 1ltr

Fennel is a versatile herb. Its bulb has a strong aniseed flavour and can be chopped up and used sparingly in soups or roasted with other vegetables. Its frondy foliage, which is tinged with purple when young, would make an interesting addition to ornamental borders or can be picked to add to pestos.

Fennel produces flat, tiny yellow blooms in July and August which attract beneficial insects - especially hoverflies. The seeds that follow are flavoursome and often added to curries. If you choose not to harvest the seeds, birds will feed on them in the autumn.
