Teenage Cancer Trust

Charity Partnership

In 2018, we announced Teenage Cancer Trust as our first ever National Charity Partner, and we are pleased to continue this partnership

Throughout the year, we host a range of fundraising activities across our stores. From team members completing fundraising challenges including hikes, head shaves and bake sales, to in-store events like our Christmas Shopping Night

Around seven young people, aged 13 and 24, are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and age appropriate nursing support from the moment they hear the word “cancer”. Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity dedicated to making this happen

Dobbies has raised over £1.39 million pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust since the beginning of the partnership

We support Stroke Association

Growing a partnership to help rebuild lives

Over 88,000 people survive a stroke every year in the UK, but surviving a stroke is just the start of a long and gruelling recovery journey. Mums, dads, grandparents, young people, even children – anyone can have a stroke, and its impact is traumatic

The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing life-long support for all stroke survivors and their families. The charity provides tailored support to tens of thousands of stroke survivors each year, funds vital scientific research, and campaigns to secure the best care for everyone affected by stroke

Dobbies has collaborated with the Stroke Association since 2020, as gardening is known to help support people rehabilitating from stroke, as well as improve overall health and wellbeing

From May 2024, we are excited to sponsor the launch of the Stroke Association’s virtual garden – Strength in Bloom – to raise vital funds for the charity.

The virtual garden is inspired by the charity’s Garden for Recovery. Designed by acclaimed designer and landscaper, Miria Harris, herself a stroke survivor, the Garden for Recovery wa one of ten show gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2024.

In the virtual garden you can dedicate a symbolic flower, tree or plaque to celebrate the resilience of a stroke survivor or honour the memory of a loved one lost to stroke. Immerse yourself in the serene sounds and find a sense of tranquillity, and community through shared stories of strength, from anywhere in the world.
