Late summer colour
The key thing to keep in mind when decorating your doorway is choosing colours that complement each other and fit the feeling of the season. Burnt oranges, warm yellows, hot pinks and deep reds are all perfect shades to include in your plants or containers that perfectly capture the late summer and early autumn season. If you want to keep your style a bit more subtle and really show off the vibrancy of your flowers, choose neutral coloured plant pots, like grey or brown, instead. Don’t forget to add evergreen shrubs for a touch of greenery
ADD AUTUMN INTEREST
Late blooming and long-lasting autumn bedding plants are a wonderful way to instantly brighten up your doorway. Our current favourites are Chrysanthemum balls, which look great in pots. Available in a wide range of beautiful shades, they’ll bring life to your entrance all the way into autumn. Chrysanthemums also make lovely cut flowers if you’re looking to add a touch of homegrown decor to your interior design too
ADORN YOUR DOOR
Decorative wreaths continue to stay on-trend for this autumn, and they’re just the thing if you’re looking to liven up every aspect of your home’s entranceway. Creating your own wreath is the most satisfying way to decorate as it allows you to fully customise the look and feel of your doorway – check out our how-to guide on creating a bird feeder wreath, which won’t just add seasonal colour to your door, but will also welcome wildlife to your garden and help our feathered friends through the colder months
