How to grow Begonias

Plants
  • Start your tubers in 10cm pots.
  • Place your tubers dimple side up, on the surface of the compost.
  • Place in a warm environment (about 15 degrees) & keep the soil moist.
  • When the shoots have developed, plant into pots/baskets, but keep them outside.
  • Watch out for mildew, a fungal disease that appears as white, powdery patches on the leaves.
  • If you have tubers you want to keep, want until the first light frost kills off the top growth.
  • Remove tubers from the compost & allow them to dry for a few days somewhere warms.
  • Remove all the top growth & store in dry compost, in a cool, frost free place
