How to create a bird feeder wreath

YOU WILL NEED

  • A full wreath (homemade or pre-bought)

  • Fat balls for birds

  • Brown string

  • Red robin foliage or other coloured leaves

STEPS TO CREATING A BIRD FEEDER WREATH

  1. Start with a plain wreath as the backbone. This can either be one you already have, one you’ve newly purchased, or one you’ve made yourself. To build your own wreath you can use a wire wreath frame as a foundation, then add vibrant green foliage such as ivy or an evergreen shrub
  2. Using brown string, attach your fat balls for birds evenly around your wreath. Use a mixture of sizes for variation, placing the largest at the top

  3. Finish it off by adding Red Robin foliage along the top of your wreath to add a pop of autumnal colour

  4. Finally, hang your wreath from your doorway and watch as wildlife flocks to your door! Make sure to decorate the rest of your doorway with your favourite late summer and autumn plants for an extra burst of floral colour
