      • Snowdrops grow best in a sheltered, partly shaded position and in soil that's not too dry in summer. Allow the flowers and leaves to die back naturally. Because Snowdrops die back after flowering (known as 'summer dormant') they require very little watering but keep containers watered in dry weather whilst they are flowering.

        Established clumps of Snowdrops can be dug up and divided straight after flowering when they are 'in the green' to increase your stocks and this is the best time to plant them rather than as bulbs in the autumn. Remember to replant the bulbs deeply, to the same depth as they were - indicated by the white parts of the leaves which should be underground.
